individual counseling

I offer 45-mins Individual counseling which is one-on-one therapy focused in providing clients with nonjudgemental, safe, and confidential environment to explore individuals feelings, beliefs and behaviors. As we are a complex being, I focus on providing holistic approach combined with cognitive behavioral therapy(CBT) in individual therapy to work through challenging experiences, identify aspects of lives that you would like to change, set personal goals and work towards in promoting well balanced life.

Family/Couples

&

group counseling

I typically offer 1 hour Family/Couples counseling. Please reach out to discuss about the process.

Did you know that group counseling really work? Individuals coming together to work on a common problem is as effective as individual therapy. The benefits are following:

1. Realize you're not alone

2. Give/Receive support

3. Cultivate compassion

what you can expect

In my practice, I support my clients to feel accepted, validated with no judgement, and without condemnation. In order to promote healing, growth, and connections, I sit through difficult emotions until self-acceptance and self-compassion is communicated and received in a safe space. This therapy process is not always easy, often times if feels worse before it feels better. According to Brene Brown, Vulnerability is defined as "uncertainty, risk, and emotional exposure, but it is also the birthplace of love, belonging, joy, courage, empathy and creative." I will walk with you through the difficult journey where you will be challenged to courageously unpack emotional baggages and find comfort in self-acceptance. In this way, you will find inner wisdom, resiliency & strengths that may bring a sense of freedom, liberation, connection to self and others. “Out of your vulnerabilities will come your strength” Sigmund Freud.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in New York. I received training from Columbia University and have worked with adults experiencing a wide range of challenges, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, family problem, racial/cultural issues, acculturation, life transitions, grief and loss. I provide Integrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and CBT therapy to promote wholeness and healthy balanced life. I believe in collaborative therapeutic relationship and mix of styles that are best suited to meet your needs. My therapy approach involves active and directive approach but modulate according to individuals needs with empathy. I understand individuals limitations and barriers, and strive to identify clients own accessible resources to strengthen the level of functioning and to live wholeheartedly.

Take a courageous step forward in the journey of healing and growth.

You are welcome here!

Sincerely,

Grace
